Mother & Daughter Killed in Pasadena Car Crash

|

A car accident in Pasadena involving two vehicles early Tuesday morning left a mother and daughter dead.

According to the Pasadena Fire Department, the crash happened at the intersection of El Molino Ave. and Maple St. at about 12:15 a.m. Maria Dolores Escobedo-Torres, 42-years-old, was driving a Chevrolet Impala northbound on El Molino. Her daughter Vanessa Escobedo (20-years-old) was a front seat passenger. A late-model Kia Optima driven by a 19-year female Pasadena resident was westbound on Maple. The Kia slammed into the Impala.

The mother and daughter occupants of the Impala, both Burbank residents, were pronounced dead at the scene. A rear seat passenger in the Impala, a 41-year-old female, suffered critical injuries. Two other passengers in the back-seat, an 18-year-old male and a 38-year-old male, suffered minor injuries.

The Kia driver was reported to have suffered moderate injuries.

The cause of the collision remains under investigation. Whether alcohol was a factor has not been reported.

ISSUES IN A SERIOUS INJURY OR FATAL CAR ACCIDENT

When injuries are serious and there are multiple injury victims, there is a good chance that there will not be enough insurance to pay everyone's claims. Thus one of the first inquiries that an attorney representing car accident injury victims will make is:

  1. How much insurance did the at-fault driver(s) have? AND
  2. Was the injury victim covered under an underinsured motorist policy?

If you or a family member has been involved in a serious injury or fatal car accident, it is best to seek the advice of an experienced personal injury lawyer. And do so right away. If fault for the accident is disputed, witnesses need to be tracked down right away. Any surveillance video that may have captured the accident also needs to be tracked down before it is recorded over.

All personal injury lawyers provide free consultations. All personal injury lawyers charge no fee unless we recover money for our clients. You have nothing to lose by seeking the advice of an accident attorney.
